Joel brings over twenty years of strategic and tactical management experience to ILO. Before joining ILO, he was the Chief Operating Officer for SecondMuse, a global business incubation company, and ran a $200 million open innovation portfolio while guiding Strategy and Operations at XPRIZE. Joel served in various strategic management capacities at Disney Interactive Media Group, Walt Disney Imagineering and Activision. Working with KPMG/BearingPoint and L.E.K., he has served as a management consultant in media, software and human capital management for high-profile, international brands, across multiple sectors, including Microsoft, Pfizer, Universal Music, Boeing, and Motorola. Carnes earned a B.A. in Social Ecology from University of California, Irvine, and is a frequent speaker on advanced work in Leadership, Organizational Design and Exponential Technologies.
Dr. Peter S. Temes
Founder and President
Dr. Peter S. Temes, founder and president of the ILO Institute. Peter began his career as a full-time member of the Harvard University Faculty of Arts and Sciences, and went on to found Enterprise Interactive, a consulting and research firm. Peter has led research initiatives for Goldman Sachs, IBM, Microsoft, Disney, Ernst & Young, Infonet Services (now a unit of British Telecom), British Air, Celgene, Pfizer and many other companies in the technology, finance and consumer marketing sectors. Peter has also served as President of the Antioch New England Graduate School. He is the author and editor of several books, including Teaching Leadership, The Just War, and Against School Reform. Peter holds a Ph.D. and three master’s degrees from Columbia University.
Judy has been a business and finance journalist for twenty years, publishing frequently in Crain’s New York Business, the Boston Globe, CFO Magazine, Business Week, and other publications.
Al is a recognized authority on online commerce, IP Telephony, and applications of information technology. Al is the author of two books on online commerce and has published extensively on ERP and CRM. He has worked as a researcher and writer on the uses of technology in business for fifteen years. Al holds a master’s degree in business from Antioch University.
Carl is a career technology and sales executive, and holds an MBA from New York University. A veteran of several forward-looking companies, including Chase Econometrics, Wyle Laboratories, IDC, and Aero Electronics, Carl is responsible for the full range of daily operations at ILO.

Cara is a former accounting firm partner with extensive experience in financial management and enterprise development outside of North America. She holds a law degree from Loyola University in Chicago.
